Music in the Gardens: Belfast Cowboys
A nine-piece, horn-driven band from Minneapolis that specializes in the music of Van Morrison, mixing rock, blues, roots and soul sounds. They have flourished in the renowned Minnesota music scene, and have consistently packed houses and wowed crowds since 2002 - even opening for Son Volt and Chicago. Sailor School is a 3-hour camp that will teach students the skills an experienced sailor needs aboard a ship, from knots to navigation and more in between. A mid-morning snack will be provided. Grades 3-6 | $19 Register here

Urban Boat Builders will be on site in the museum for a paddle making class. You will choose your own design from traditional paddles— Beavertail, Ottertail, Algonquin or Voyageur, and you’ll choose which types of wood to use. As part of the Alexandria Downtown Merchants Association Halloween Trick or Treat event, the museum is joining in the fun with Boo Boats. Bring the kids to the Legacy of the Lakes Museum on October 31 from 3-5 pm. We'll have volunteers stationed in different boats around the museum passing out candy. This event is free and open to the public.
