As part of the Alexandria Downtown Merchants Association Halloween Trick or Treat event, the museum is joining in the fun with Boo Boats. Bring the kids to the Legacy of the Lakes Museum on October 31 from 3-5 pm. We'll have volunteers stationed in different boats around the museum passing out candy. This event is free and open to the public.

It's the 9th annual Parade of Trees, part of Christmas in the Fort celebrations! Join us Friday, November 29, 2024 from 2-6 pm to kick off the holiday season. The Legacy of the Lakes BoatHouse will be filled with holiday trees decorated by area clubs, organizations, and businesses. The Legacy of the Lakes Museum is pleased to announce the 5th Annual Paddle Art Contest! We’re inviting community members to paint, carve, burn, or sculpt paddles into works of art. They will be displayed at the museum in a special exhibition opening Spring 2025. Admission to the Paddle Art Gallery to view the paddles is free and members of the public will be able to vote for their favorite for the People’s Choice Award.
