Kids in the Garden
A special rock n’ roll concert for the kids! This is a rain or shine concert. In the event of rain, the show will take place inside the BoatHouse. Design and make your own canoe paddle from scratch. Choose your own design, Beavertail, Ottertail, Algonquin or Voyageur, and which types of wood to use. Over the course of 3 days, you will shape the paddle—the same way artisans have been making paddles for centuries. No previous woodworking skills are required and all tools will be provided. We're turning the Legacy Gardens into Margaritaville for the night with Parrothead Paradise performing their Jimmy Buffett tribute on August 8th! Margaritaville attire is encouraged for this concert! Gates open at 5:30 pm and the concert starts at 6:30 pm. There will be food for purchase from the Depot Smokehouse and Tavern and a cash bar for those who are 21+ (sodas and water also available). In the Legacy Gardens, we've set up Story Strolls, a walkthrough the Gardens with a shipwreck tale woven in. The slightly scary story is geared towards children, but there's something for everyone to learn! The Story starts by the waterfall bridge and continues around the outer path of the Gardens. The walkthrough will be up through October 31st. The Legacy Gardens are free and open to the public from dawn to dusk so stop by and check it out!
