A fun and new creative program this summer from the Legacy of the Lakes Museum. Captain's Quarters will take place Wednesdays* through August in the BoatHouse from 10 am-11 am. This craft and hands-on learning filled hour is perfect for pre-school to second grade aged children and is free, with no registration required! *There will be no Captain's Quarters on June 24, July 1, July 15, and July 22.

Our 38th annual classic boat show will be held on July 11, 2026 at Lure Lakebar on Lake Le Homme Dieu from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be classic and vintage boat displays on land and water, pop-up musuem displays, free boat rides, and more! This event is free and open to the public. Captains! This annual fundraiser has become a favorite summer tradition and a wonderful way to support the museum’s year-round work and this year is extra special as we celebrate the museum’s 20th Anniversary. Enjoy cocktails, dinner, a Golden Ticket raffle, exciting live auction, great company, and entertainment by the incomparable Bluewater Kings. Plus, there will be a few surprises…

Kids can get their feet wet in the time-honored tradition of model boat building in this class. We’ll be using beginner level model boat kits geared towards kids ages 10 & up.
