Boat Mini-Parade

September 5, 2020 @ 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The museum is hosting several boat mini-parades on select Saturday afternoons in August and September. Each parade will take place on a different lake and last approximately an hour and a half. Classic boat captains, feel free to join in! If you don't have a boat, we hope you'll watch as the parade floats by! Looking for a piece of art for your home or cabin? Now you can own a unique piece done by a local artist. Legacy of the Lakes Museum will be auctioning off several of the paddles from their Pledge-a-Paddle Community Art Contest. Bidding will take place online and open on October 14 at 8:00 am and will close on October 16 at  11:59 pm. With great excitement, it is the season to announce the fifth annual Parade of Trees. The Runestone Museum, along with the Legacy of the Lakes Museum and other partners are pleased to bring this to our area...Virtually!  Clubs, organizations, and businesses are asked to decorate a holiday tree with a theme of your choosing and submit a photo. Light Up Broadway

Light Up Broadway is happening Friday, November 27 about 5pm. There will be a live stream happening and if you want to go in person, social distance yourself along Broadway Street between 10 Avenue and 2 Avenue. The plan is to have Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus ride down Broadway Street about 5pm and Light Up Broadway with Christmas Lights. Enjoy the lighting and stop into your favorite shops downtown! Parade of Trees has gone virtual this year! Local area individuals, businesses, clubs, and organizations decorated themed Christmas trees and submitted their photos to the museum. Now its the public's turn to vote for their favorite. Visit legacyofthelakes.org/parade-of-trees/ starting at noon on December 7th to see the trees and vote. Don't forget your free will donation benefiting Douglas County Hospice before you leave. Voting lasts until December 24th and the winning tree will be announced on Christmas Day!
