Water Talks: Alexandria Nature Trail

September 19 @ 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Central-Lakes-State-Trail-4
Join us Monday, September 19th at the Legacy of the Lakes BoatHouse as Tim Schoonhoven presents on the Alexandria Nature Trail. He is lead engineer working with the Nature Conservancy to preserve and protect a corridor from I-94 to Lake Le’ Homme Dieu. The trail will provide for water runoff management as well as provide for public use of a nature trail. The project would also preserve valuable wetlands that act as natural filters and sponges that cleans and slows down water during storms.
Tim Schoonhoven is civil engineer and Vice President with Widseth in Alexandria. He has served as the Alexandria City Engineer since 1994 and has worked on dozens of projects to improve water quality in the community. Much of this work goes through the City’s Stormwater Management Committee.
This talk is free and open to the public. Thank you to our event partners, Douglas County Lakes Association.
