Paddle Making Class
August 8 @ 10:00 a.m. - August 10 @ 4:00 p.m.
$75Event Navigation
Urban Boat Builders will be on site in the museum for a paddle making class. You will choose your own design from traditional paddles— Beavertail, Ottertail, Algonquin or Voyageur, and you’ll choose which types of wood to use. Over the course of 3 days, you will shape the paddle—the same way artisans have been making paddles for centuries. No previous woodworking skills are required and all tools will be provided.
Make a paddle solo or bring along a child/grandchild to make a special memory along with your paddle, at no additional cost. Due to limited space, only one child per paddle is allowed and children cannot work on a paddle alone. Children must be at least 12-years-old to build a paddle with an adult. Solo builders must be 16-years-old and up.
This class is August 8-10, from 10 am to 4 pm every day, with a break for lunch. Class size is limited to 8 paddles, so register early! Click here to register!
