SUMMARY:Paddle Making Class
DESCRIPTION:Urban Boat Builders will be on site in the museum for a paddle making class. You will choose your own design from traditional paddles— Beavertail\, Ottertail\, Algonquin or Voyageur\, and you’ll choose which types of wood to use. Over the course of 3 days\, you will shape the paddle—the same way artisans have been making paddles for centuries. No previous woodworking skills are required and all tools will be provided.\n\nMake a paddle solo or bring along a child/grandchild to make a special memory along with your paddle\, at no additional cost. Due to limited space\, only one child per paddle is allowed and children cannot work on a paddle alone. Children must be at least 12-years-old to build a paddle with an adult. Solo builders must be 16-years-old and up.\n\nThis class is August 8-10\, from 10 am to 4 pm every day\, with a break for lunch. Class size is limited to 8 paddles\, so register early!
