Gallery Talk: So Terrible a Storm
During Thanksgiving week, 1905, the Mataafa Storm swept over Lake Superior, damaging or destroying 29 ships, claiming dozens of lives, and causing millions of dollars in damages. Join us Monday, September 19th at the Legacy of the Lakes BoatHouse as Tim Schoonhoven and Todd Holman present on the Alexandria Nature Trail. He is lead engineer working with the Nature Conservancy to preserve and protect a corridor from I-94 to Lake Le’ Homme Dieu. In honor of Minnesota's education tradition, the museum is offering up to 2 free adults/seniors with a paid youth admission* from Thursday, October 21 to Sunday, October 23. Stop by and see us! We're open Friday 10-5, Saturday 10-4, and Sunday 12-4. *Youth admission is $5 for children ages 5-17.

Join us in the BoatHouse for Lake Science Storytime and Experiments! Kid's grades 2nd-5th will participate in STEM experiments revolving around lakes. There are two dates for this program, November 8 and 15. This is a free event and no registration is required, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
