Lake Carlos Boat Parade
Join us June 26th for our first boat mini-parade of the season! The parade route will travel clockwise around Lake Carlos from the Darling-Carlos channel. Watching from shore or from the water? Be on the look out for our T-shirt cannon shooting off limited edition t-shirts! Have a vintage or classic watercraft and want to participate in the parade? The boats will leave from Arrowwood Resort just before 11 on June 26th.

No sunstone, a mythical tool that guided Viking seafaring, has ever been found on or near a Viking shipwreck, causing most historians to dismiss the idea of the sunstone as fiction. Scott Henderson from Sauk Centre One Watershed/One Plan will give an overview talk on the Sauk Centre Watershed project and what to expect for the Long Prairie River project at the Legacy of the Lakes BoatHouse on Monday, July 12, at 7:00 pm. You won’t be running around in circles after this class. Participants will learn about the ways people navigated over time, both on land and water, and then make their own compasses. Finally, the class will go on a compass scavenger hunt around the museum. Ideal for Grades 3-6.

One Shoe Canoe 5K Fundraiser benefitting the Runestone Museum Foundation and Legacy of the Lakes Museum. Sign-up now and complete this 5K on water at your own pace between July 23 and August 1. Canoe, kayak, or SUP your way around our lakes to benefit your local museums. Proceeds will be split evenly between the two museums.
