Story Strolls
In the Legacy Gardens, we've set up Story Strolls, a walkthrough the Gardens with a shipwreck tale woven in. The slightly scary story is geared towards children, but there's something for everyone to learn! The Story starts by the waterfall bridge and continues around the outer path of the Gardens. The walkthrough will be up through October 31st. The Legacy Gardens are free and open to the public from dawn to dusk so stop by and check it out!

Bring the kids to the museum between 3-5 pm on Halloween and give them a truly unique trick or treating experience! We'll be handing out candy from several of our classic boats, plus kids can take part in the pumpkin scavenger hunt! This event is free and open to the public.

It's time again for Christmas in Alexandria, Alexandria's annual holiday kick off and we're excited to once again host Parade of Trees in the BoatHouse! This event is free and open to the public! Come see holiday trees beautifully decorated by local clubs, businesses, and organizations and vote for your favorite tree to win Best in Parade. Voting is done through cash donations. Any monetary amount is accepted, whether it is $0.25, $5.00, or $20.00, whatever you can spare. Proceeds…

Join us in the BoatHouse (205 3rd Ave W | Alexandria, MN) on Tuesday, December 9th from 7:00-8:30 pm as we take ordinary fishing bobbers and transform them into fun and creative holiday ornaments! No matter your skill level, this crafty night out is a good time for all. Choose just one ornament to focus on or make all three styles! All supplies are provided, you just bring your creativity. It's time again for Hot Chocolate History, where your local historical institutions take turns presenting once a month, while serving up delicious hot cocoa! February is Legacy of the Lake's turn. We’ve come a long way in our beachwear, from Victorian bloomers to the polka dot bikini. Come learn about the evolution of swimwear throughout history and see examples from the museum’s collection.
