Paint the Legacy Gardens

Paint the Gardens

Plein Air Oil Painting Experience in the beautiful Legacy Gardens on the campus of the Legacy of the Lakes Museum.

This is your chance to try your hand at painting en plein air!

Did you know painting en plein air translates from the French as (in the) open air, and is particularly associated with 19th century schools of art known for painting outdoors, including the Impressionists. Local Artist Leanne Larson will give relaxed step by step instructions as we paint the setting we see with our own eyes! This class is offered for anyone who simply wants to get outdoors and experience Plein Air Painting! All painting supplies are provided including use of a standing retractable easel that can be lowered for sitting. This is a 2-3 hour session so you can choose to sit, stand or both. Stools/chairs will also be provided. We will take breaks and have discussion times. No painting experience required! Please bring your own beverages & snacks.
