Parade of Trees

‘Tis the season for Alexandria’s annual holiday kick off event, Parade of Trees and Christmas in the Fort. The best part? This event is 100% free to the community!
On Friday, November 24 from 3-6 pm, visit the BoatHouse at the Legacy of the Lakes Museum to view holiday trees decorated by area businesses, clubs, and organizations. Enjoy our hot cocoa bar and make s’mores over the fire. We’ll also have the opportunity to create a holiday memory, with a photo backdrop provided by Creations by ‘Sota Weddings. New this year, the Friends of Christmas will have the Legacy Gardens lit up for Garden of Lights, a walking holiday light display.
The fun continues next door at the Runestone Museum. Follow the lighted path between the two museums to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy cookies and cider, and check out live animals. Both campuses will have choral performances from the Zion Children’s Choir and the Alexandria Carolers.
The BoatHouse will also be open Saturday and Sunday (Nov 25 & 26) from 4:30-8 pm for holiday tree viewing (cocoa and s’mores are Friday only).
