Night at the Museum Movie Night
Join us at the Legacy of the Lakes BoatHouse for a free family movie night! We will have a showing of Night at the Museum starting at 6 pm. There will be free popcorn and beverages available. Bring the kids and the chairs and blankets and get ready to laugh. After the movie is an optional opportunity to take a peek inside the museum as we prepare for our upcoming season. Join the Legacy of the Lakes Museum and the Douglas County Historical Society for a free presentation at Copper Trail Brewing Co. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 7:00 pm. May's topic will cover WWII. DCHS will present objects from thier collection that have ties to local heroes who fought in the war, while LOLM will look at how the war changed boat production and some of the innovations that arose from it, such as the infamous Higgins Boat.

Our annual Family Day, free and open to the public! Family Day activities run from 1-3 pm throught the museum and Legacy Gardens. We've added more fun than ever before to this year's Family Day. Live Music from The Bazillions More kid's activities from the museum and other local organizations Demonstrations Crafts Face Painting Free Museum Admission (12-4 pm) We'll be serving up $5 Hot Dog Baskets all day, plus we'll have free popcorn and ice cream treats.

Kids will unleash thier creativity and design a boat using everyday household supplies and recycled materials!
