Penny Press Contest
The museum is getting a penny press machine and we would like the public’s help designing one of the coins! We would like to invite your organization to decorate a holiday tree with a theme of your choosing for display at the museum. There is no fee to participate, and the trees will be viewed by thousands over the Thanksgiving weekend and beyond. A free presentation on the SS Edmund Fitzgerald, from its launch and years of service on the Great Lakes to its final voyage. The presentation will end with a naming of the sailors lost and a moment of silence. With the move of Parade of Trees into the Main Museum, it gives us the opportunity to leave the holiday trees up longer for people to enjoy. The trees will be available to view for free during November 28-December 20, Fridays-Sundays, 5:00-8:00 pm. This coincides with the Garden of Lights from the Friends of Christmas occuring in the museum's Legacy Gardens. They can also be viewed during the museum's holiday gift shop hours during the week (M-F, 10:00 am-5:00 pm).…
