DESCRIPTION:The Legacy of the Lakes Museum is pleased to announce the 3nd Annual Pledge-a-Paddle Community Art Contest. We invite community members to paint\, carve\, burn\, and sculpt paddles into works of art that will be displayed at the museum during the 2022 season. The museum provides the paddles and awards five prizes: Peoples Choice Award\, Adult and Youth; Artist’s Choice Award; and Juror’s Choice Award\, Adult and Youth.\n\nRegistration is open until March 31\, 2022. DESCRIPTION:Women have been revving engines since motor racing began. Cars\, planes\, and boats are great equalizers when it comes for the thirst for speed. Women like Joe Carstairs and Delphine Dodge lived unconventional lives for their time\, but made their mark on history. Legacy of the Lakes Museum will take a look at some of the pioneering women who made an impact on motorboat racing and the lives they lived.\n\nJoin us online! This class will be held using the online platform\, Zoom. Prior to the class\, you will receive an email from the instructor with the Zoom invitation to access the class. Simply click the link on the day and time of the class and Kaci will lead you through the class from the comfort of your own home!\n\nRegister here! $10 for museum members (Legacy of the Lakes Museum\, Runestone Museum Foundation\, OR the Douglas County Historical Society)\, $14 non-members.
