SUMMARY:Drawing in the Gardens
DESCRIPTION:You may have heard about “mindfulness” and being “present in the moment.” These ideas can feel foreign to our busy\, overscheduled lives\, but their premise is simple: We need to pay attention to what is happening around us. Slow down. Notice things about the natural world that you previously overlooked. The Legacy Garden is the perfect place to discover your inner artist and learn new skills.\n\nYour sketchbook will be a place for putting pen\, pencil and other drawing tools to paper to observe aspects of nature with curiosity and attention. Artistic expression of color\, shape\, texture will be the focus. We will play with ways to alter sketchbook pages. All drawing abilities are welcome!\n\nParticipants should bring their own sketchbook\, pencil\, art medium for adding color (such as: small watercolor set\, colored pencils\, watercolor pencils\, etc.) Also bring a water bottle and comfortable outdoor chair. Dress for the weather\, a sunhat is suggested.\n\nClass is facilitated by Alexandria Community Education. Advance registration is required. $53.00/4 sessions.\n\nRegister here!
